Soft acrobatics through Capoeira Angola

Explore acrobatic movement without having to be an acrobat. Discover grounded, fluid movement inspired by Capoeira Angola, with the complexity adapted to your level.

12:30—15:30, 25 October
Rue de la Glacière 18, 1060 Saint-Gilles, Belgium

Explore fluid, continuous movement and the foundations of soft acrobatics through movement inspired by Capoeira Angola.

Capoeira Angola brings together movement, rhythm, play and interaction, with a rich vocabulary of grounded movements, transitions and inversions that offers plenty to explore beyond the practice of Capoeira itself.

In this wworkshop, we’ll work with weight shifts, locomotion, coordination and accessible acrobatic movements, gradually connecting them into smooth, playful sequences.

No acrobatics or Capoeira experience needed. The complexity of the movements will be adapted to each participant, so you can explore from where you are and progress at your own pace.

About the facilitatos

Agnieszka Pietruczuk

Agnieszka lives and dances in Brussels. She began dancing at the age of five, first training in ballet and later moving into contemporary dance. She completed a two-year contemporary dance instructor programme and holds a diploma certified by the Polish Ministry of Culture.

Her practice has since expanded through somatic approaches to movement, Body-Mind Centering, capoeira and forró, as well as different forms of bodywork. She has trained extensively in Thai Yoga Massage and Kobido, bringing hands-on work and a deeper exploration of anatomy, touch and body awareness into her practice.

Across dance, movement and bodywork, she is interested in how we organise the body, relate to gravity and support, and find more possibilities for moving with awareness and ease.

Gaspar Galaz (Finhinho)

Gaspar is a capoeirista from Chile who’s been training capoeira angola since 2014. Over the years, he’s traveled all over Europe for Capoeira Angola festivals, learning from a bunch of mestres and contra-mestres along the way.
