What happens when we bring the qualities of Tai Chi into improvised dance?
Explore verticality, moving from the centre and release — not as Tai Chi forms to reproduce, but as qualities that can influence how we move, improvise and connect with others.
We’ll pay attention to how we move rather than what the movement looks like, using simple exercises and improvisation to explore different qualities in the body.
No Tai Chi or dance experience is needed. Come as you are, wear something you can move in, and be ready to experiment, play and move with other people.
Who is it for?
If you already dance, the workshop offers an opportunity to look at familiar movement from a different perspective and experiment with qualities such as softness, balance, release and movement from the centre.
If you’re new to dance, you don’t need any previous experience or specific technique. The exercises will give you simple ways to start exploring.
You don’t need to know Tai Chi. You don’t need to consider yourself a dancer.

About the facilitatos
Agnieszka Pietruczuk
Agnieszka lives and dances in Brussels. She began dancing at the age of five, first training in ballet and later moving into contemporary dance. She completed a two-year contemporary dance instructor programme and holds a diploma certified by the Polish Ministry of Culture.
Her practice has since expanded through somatic approaches to movement, Body-Mind Centering, capoeira and forró, as well as different forms of bodywork. She has trained extensively in Thai Yoga Massage and Kobido, bringing hands-on work and a deeper exploration of anatomy, touch and body awareness into her practice.
Across dance, movement and bodywork, she is interested in how we organise the body, relate to gravity and support, and find more possibilities for moving with awareness and ease.

Brice Levy has been practising Chinese martial arts for over ten years, including Wing Chun and Taiji Quan, alongside Qi Gong and Nei Gong. He has trained with teachers including Lionel Roulier, Luce Condamine, Laurence Cortadellas and Jean-Michel Chomet, and holds a University Diploma in Therapeutic Tai Chi, which he completed as a teaching assistant to Dr Luce Condamine.
His practice is rooted in curiosity and a long-term exploration of movement, with a particular interest in softness, awareness, balance and connection. Alongside Tai Chi and Qi Gong, he continues to explore other movement practices including Tui Shou, Systema and yoga. For Brice, the point is not to collect techniques, but to keep learning — and to see what happens when we bring these different qualities into movement, improvisation and shared practice.
